Job Summary
SMCC is seeking a talented Media Production Design Analyst to join
our team. The ideal candidate creates innovative and original 2D
and 3D computer-animated visuals tailored for SMCC's various
digital platforms, including on-campus TV monitors, digital
screens, and the campus marquee. These designs are also utilized
across the college's website, social media channels, advertising,
newsletters, and more.
This role involves designing and producing engaging print
materials, such as posters, banners, brochures, annual reports, and
other promotional and communication collateral. The analyst
collaborates directly with print, direct mail, promotional, and
media vendors to oversee specifications, quotes, purchase orders,
quality control, and project timelines.
Additionally, the position supports college events by capturing
high-quality photography and videography, ensuring all visual
content aligns with SMCC's brand and communication goals.
Essential Functions
40% Motion Graphics creates compelling and original computer
animated 2- and 3-dimensional images, suitable for SMCC's various
on-campus screens, including TV monitors, digital screens and
campus marquee, as well as for use on the college's website and in
social media pages, advertising, newsletters, etc.
40% Print Graphics Designs and creates visually appealing print
marketing, promotion and communication collateral, including
posters, flyers, banners, brochures, documents, college promotional
items and more
20% Photography/Videography. Occasionally assists with event
photography and videography projects, including capturing and
editing of assets.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in
graphic design or related field and two (2) years of professional
journey level experience in developing, planning and implementing
creative visual design projects and campaigns.
OR
Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution in
graphic design or related field and four (4) years of professional
journey level experience in developing, planning and implementing
creative visual design projects and campaigns.
OR
Highschool Diploma/GED and six (6) years of professional journey
level experience in developing, planning and implementing creative
visual design projects and campaigns.
NOTE: One (1) year of work experience is equivalent to 2,080 hours
worked. Therefore, employment must be indicated as full-time or
part-time on the resume to determine applicant qualifications.
Desired Qualifications
A. Knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Suite
B. Experience with photography, including printing and editing
techniques
C. Experience with the creation of print products, including
working with a print vendor, and understanding and incorporating
various print techniques, such as bleeds crops, binding, RBG vs
CMYK and more.
D. Knowledge of and experience with motion graphics software such
as After Effects or Motion
E. Experience with videography/video editing, including compression
techniques, codecs, using audio beds
Special Working Conditions
May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time; viewing a
computer monitor; some evening or weekend work may be required.
