  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
  • The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred).
  • Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
  • Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
  • Flexibility is a must.
  • Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
  • There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).

    • 3 years of recent ICU experience required
    • Active BLS certification required
    • Active ACLS certification required
    • Active NIHSS certification required
    • AZ license or compact license required
    • TNCC preferred
      • Schedule Information
      • Self scheduling allowed
      • 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule
      • Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday
      • Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday
      • May have 1 holiday off in an assignment
      • No additional call/standby shifts required
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery
        • # Beds: 32
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1
        • Charge Nurse: Yes, do not take patients
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, 24/7
        • RT in ICU 24/7: Yes
        • No monitor techs on unit, RN required to interpret own strip. GE monitors
          • Additional Details
          • Auto-offer based off clinical prescreen
          • UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2
          • There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation.
          • Will validate skills for trauma, neuro and speciality devices as needed.
          • Sister units are a medical/cardiac 36 bed ICU & 12 bed overflow ICU. Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
